Hello again everyone. OK, to answer the question that many have been asking... NO, our store is NOT going out of business!!!
If you are wondering why we even would mention this, it is because Hacker Jewelers, Inc. in Adrian is closing. That store is owned and operated by Daniel B. Hacker, whose present health doesn’t allow him to continue for the time being. At the age of 82, he has been in the jewelry business for approximately 57 years (and is hoping to get back at it ASAP, believe it or not!).
The Hacker family purchased our Tecumseh store from Paul and Mary Lou Dangler in 1984. Our store, Hacker Jewelers, Designers & Goldsmiths, Inc., is owned and operated by Daniel G. and Barbara Hacker. We have been completely independent of “Dan Senior's” store since 1987. To complicate matters further, “Dan Senior” purchased his store (originally in Blissfield) in the 1950s from Larry Dangler. And several Danglers or In-Laws of the Dangler family have worked with us Hackers over the years, including a couple to this day.
But the long story short, if the Lord is willing we plan on being around for a long time to come. We are NOT closing. We are NOT having a big liquidation sale or anything like it. We will NOT be servicing items purchased at Hacker Jewelers in Adrian under any warranty, express or implied. Over the years we have tried to be very clear about this; for instance we have never done joint advertising or promotions together. It may be confusing, but suffice it to say that our family has remained closer over the years by our businesses being completely separate and independent! OK, 'nuff said.
With that out of the way, there is A LOT going on at our store. We recently returned from a major spring buying event…and once again, we OVER-BOUGHT (we just can’t help ourselves)! Come and take a look at a ton (OK, maybe only a kilo) of new gold items…white, yellow, rose, and mixed tones…chains, bracelets, earrings, pendants and necklaces.
We now have even more affordable sterling silver jewelry, including a beautiful new selection with genuine colored gemstones. We bought some dynamite looking new bridal pieces. And we replenished all sorts of brown tones of natural champagne and cognac diamonds (one large jewelry company refers to these colors as like a popular brown candy or dessert item; mmmmm). Oh, and watches…of course we filled in some new watches.
Well, thanks again for checking in with us. Please keep our father/father-in-law “Dan Senior” in your thoughts and prayers that he is able to get “back in the saddle” again soon. And don’t forget to come see us and check out our new items soon too!
